AboutCHRISTIAN DENICE grew up dancing in Westlake Village, California. Upon graduating high school, he began his professional dance career at Odyssey Dance Theatre in Salt Lake City, Utah, under the direction of Derryl Yeager. Christian spent the next three years at River North Dance Chicago in Chicago, Illinois, under the direction of Frank Chaves. Christian was named one of the top ten male dancers of 2010 by Time Out Chicago and received recognition as a notable Chicago dancer of 2010 by the Chicago Tribune. He has worked with and performed works by Robert Battle, Sidra Bell, Lauri Stallings, Roni Koresh, Frank Chaves, and Sherry Zunker to name a few. He has guest performed with the Montgomery Ballet, Greensboro Ballet , and Company E, and BODYTRAFFIC. Recently, Christian lived in Montreal, Quebec, where he danced for Les Ballets Jazz de Montreal and had the privilege of internationally performing works by Andonis Foniadakis, Cayetano Soto, Wen Wei Wang, and Barak Marshall.

In addition to dancing, Christian teaches and choreographs nationally and internationally. Christian's first commissioned work was through Odyssey Dance Theater, in Salt Lake City, in 2012, and was brought back for another new creation the following year. He has created new works for Odyssey Dance Theatre, River North Dance Chicago in collaboration with Frank Chaves, LEVELdance Chicago, DanceWorks Chicago, Interlochen Center for the Arts, METdance too, the Los Angeles Contemporary Dance Company, Visceral Dance Chicago, Missouri Contemporary Ballet, Western Michigan University, METdance Houston, AXIS Connect Los Angeles, Wylliams/Henry Contemporary Dance Company, SALT II, and Modern America Dance Company. Christian spent a month long residency at Interlochen Center of Arts in Interlochen, Michigan where he created a collaborative work between the students of Interlochen and the dancers of DanceWorks Chicago. In the past two years, DanceWorks Chicago has commissioned two new works for Christian. His choreography has been featured at Jazz Dance World Congress as well as at events including the 41st annual gala for Les Ballets Jazz de Montreal. Christian his on faculty with The Joffrey Academy of Dance and Hubbard Street Dance HS Pro Program, and has taught master class and repertoire workshops for the company in North America, South America, and Europe. Christian was the 2015-2016 winner of the University of South Florida's Echo Choreographic Competition, and had a two week residency at the university where he restaged his 2011 work, "raum". Christian spent five weeks this past March in Athens, Greece where we restaged Andonis Foniadakis' KOSMOS on the dancers of the National School of Dance. He is the 2016 winner of the Joffrey Academy's Winning Works Choreographic Competition, and had the honor of creating a work on the Academy in March of 2016.
